Recurring Investment for Australian Stocks

1.What is Recurring Investment?

Recurring Investment is a low-threshold investment tool that allows you to automatically invest funds on a recurring schedule. This handy feature can help lower the average amount you spend on investments and reduce the impact of volatility. The investment threshold for Australian stocks can be as low as A$50 per month, making it an effective way to build wealth over time.

1.1 Benefits of Recurring Investment

Recurring Investment has the following benefits.

Flexibility

With Recurring Investment, you can choose any amount and frequency at which you’d like to invest, whether it's biweekly or monthly. You can also edit, suspend, or stop any of your recurring investment plans at any time.

Help manage volatility

Regularly investing a fixed amount can help reduce the impact of short-term market fluctuations over time, as you can buy more shares when the stock price falls, and fewer shares when it rises.

Free up your time

As a recurring investment is a fixed amount invested on a regular basis, you don't need to constantly keep an eye on the market. Simply pick your desired stocks, and how often you'd like to invest, and we'll handle the rest.

1.2 Why Moomoo NZ

Recurring Investment with Moomoo NZ offers you the most flexible investment schedule, you can invest biweekly or monthly, and edit, suspend, or stop a recurring investment plan at any time. This feature helps you steadily build your portfolio while reliably tracking your average cost to monitor gains and losses.

Handling fees

A monthly fee of A$9(tax excluded) is calculated per recurring investment plan. If you successfully execute multiple recurring investment plans within the same calendar month, the system will aggregate the total number of plans (N) and deduct a lump sum of N*A$9 at the beginning of the following calendar month.

The recurring investment for Australian stocks is charged on a per-plan basis, rather than per transaction. For the same reurrring investment plan, regardless of the frequency and size of buy orders executed under those plans within the same calendar month, the fee will be charged only once for that calendar month.

For example, if you set up two recurring investment plans, A and B, they will be charged a total of A$18 per month (2 plans x A$9 each).

1.3 How do I set up a recurring investment plan?

Here's how to create your plan in 3 steps.

a. Open the app, and go to the Accounts tab > Tap an account > More > Recurring Investment.

b. Create an investment plan or pick a stock from Top Recurring Investments.

c. Select a Paying Account (brokerage account) and Stock Symbol, enter an Investment Amount, and set the Frequency.

You can also tap "i" to view the specific rules of a recurring investment plan, and edit, suspend, or stop the plan at any time.

All investments carry risks, and it is possible to lose some or all of your principal investment.
