中国人不骗中国人!汤加火山喷发将助力獐子岛业绩翻倍?

The Chinese don't lie to the Chinese! Will Tonga volcanic eruption help double the performance of Zhangzi Island?

In the Yellow Sea area of more than 90 kilometers east of Dalian, Liaoning Province, there is such a beautiful island, which crosses the island just across the 39 °north latitude line, which is Zhangzi Island.

But what people are more interested in talking about than its beautiful natural environment are the stories between the listed company and the scallops.

Will Tonga volcanic eruption help double the performance of Zhangzi Island?

At around 17:00 on January 17, the official Phoenix WEEKLY Douyin account posted a short video with the caption: "due to Tonga volcano eruption and tsunami, a large number of Pacific scallops have flooded Zhangzi Island, and revenue is expected to grow by more than 100% this year."

As soon as the above news came out, it immediately detonated public opinion.

Some netizens joked: "this company is the A-share story, we have to accept it!" "it has been confirmed by experts that the scallop in this influx is a scallop seedling sent by Zhangzi Island in the past."

In addition, it is worth noting that some investors asked Zhangzi Island on the interactive platform: "respect Secretary Tung, the volcanic eruption in the Tonga sea area has caused a rise in sea water temperature in the nearby sea area. Will it lead to the possibility of a large number of Pacific scallop flooding into the company's sea area to avoid danger?" If this is possible, does the company have a contingency plan to welcome the arrival of these scallops, or take measures to actively attract some high-quality South Pacific scallop resources to the company's waters, so as to boost the company's economies of scale? Thank you. "

Some investors also asked: "Hello, Dear Secretary Dong, the sea is heating up after the Tonga volcano erupted. Has the company prepared sufficient production capacity for cooked food?" And the company's capacity planning for prefabricated vegetables? Thank you. "

As of press time, the secretary of Zhangzi Island did not respond to the above two questions.

According to the Financial Associated Press, Zhangzi Island Securities Department responded to the relevant news: "it is not clear about the above situation", "if there is a major situation, the company will disclose it as soon as possible."

Today, on the A-share market, as of press time, the share price of Zhangzi Island rose by the limit.

Prior to this, Zhangzi Island said on the interactive platform on January 13 that in recent years, the company has been committed to promoting the upgrading of ingredients to food, around the core marine resources of Zhangzi Island, R & D and launch of "Zhangzi Island flavor" marine food. The company's products include fresh sea treasures, frozen food (fish, shrimp, crab clam and other frozen ingredients and prepared dishes, etc.), nutritional food (abalone caviar, etc.), snack food (shellfish, shrimp and other marine snacks).

The years of Zhangzi Island and scallop

The reason why shareholders are so keen to make fun of Zhangzi Island is that there have been too many magical stories between Zhangzi Island and scallops.

In 2014, Zhangzi Island announced that more than 1 million mu of shrimp and Japanese scallop had no harvest due to unusually cold water masses. Affected by this, Zhangzi Island suffered a huge loss of 1.189 billion yuan in 2014.

In April 2018, the annual report of Zhangzi Island said that the company lost 723 million in 2017 because "marine disasters caused scallops to die of weight."

The first quarterly report of Zhangzi Island in March 2019 also said that the company lost 43.14 million yuan in net profit on the grounds that "the total harvest of scallops decreased."

There was another scallop incident in November 2019, when Zhangzi Island announced that sampling tests had found a "large proportion of deaths" of the company's scallops in the near future, with KE Holdings Inc. accounting for more than 80 per cent of deaths in some sea areas.

Some netizens joked: "Chinese people do not deceive Chinese people!" You can lie to me once, but not again and again. "

In order to investigate the escape of scallops on Zhangzi Island, the CSRC even used the Beidou system.

In 2018, the China Securities Regulatory Commission officially launched an investigation into Zhangzi Island, which found three major problems, according to CCTV Financial report. First, wantonly manipulate financial statements to live beyond their means; second, sample test data falsify shrimp and Japanese scallop inventory; third, the company did not disclose its performance in a short period of time.

The survey found that how much of the fishing area of Zhangzi Island is provided by the company's fishing personnel to the financial staff on a monthly basis, the whole process has no daily objective records for reference, financial personnel do not have effective means to check, and the company's internal control is seriously lacking. But in fact, which sea areas the company has been to and how long it has stayed has long been recorded by the "Skynet" made up of dozens of Beidou satellites.

The investigators used the objective satellite positioning data to restore the actual fishing trajectory map of the fishing boat of Zhangzi Island Company.

After that, the China Securities Regulatory Commission made an administrative penalty decision on Zhangzi Island: the company was given a warning and fined 600000 yuan, 15 responsible persons were fined from 30, 000 yuan to 300000 yuan, and four main responsible persons were banned from the market for five years to life.

For this punishment, some analysts say that the punishment for Zhangzi Island Company is applicable to the old "Securities Law", because the illegal act of Zhangzi Island Company occurred during the implementation of the old "Securities Law". According to the principle that the new law does not go back to the past, the application of the old "Securities Law" when carrying out administrative penalties on Zhangzi Island is in line with the spirit of the rule of law and the principle of the rule of law.

Tonga volcano eruption may affect agriculture

Finally, let's talk about the impact of Tonga volcano eruption.

Shenwan Futures Research believes that several volcanic eruptions in history have caused the impact of global temperature drop.

Especially in summer, the cooling is more obvious. Due to the high level of Tonga volcano eruption (VEI-6), we need to pay special attention to whether the accumulated temperature in the main crop producing areas this year and next is sufficient, especially in La Nina, which is prone to low temperature and rainy summer in the Northern Hemisphere. If the accumulated temperature is insufficient, the yield of spring sowing crops and fruits and vegetables will easily be reduced.

After the yield reduction, the prices of crops with low stocks fluctuate more violently. Investors need to closely track the changes of production, get rid of the understanding of prices in the past historical fluctuations and do a good job in risk management.

Market participants also said that in the short term, the tsunami in the southern hemisphere may affect supply sentiment in several countries, such as iron ore in Australia, bauxite, nickel mines in Indonesia, and so on, while the impact on agricultural products may be a medium-term effect, and it needs to be seen whether it will cause bad weather in the northern hemisphere and lead to a reduction in agricultural production.

However, some meteorological enthusiasts believe that although the Tonga volcano eruption is also very strong, the impact on the global climate, especially on the northern hemisphere, should be weaker than Pinatubo volcano, even less than Tambora volcano, the northern hemisphere is unlikely to have a "summer-free year."
