According to the Fehd, in order to provide further assistance to industries directly affected by the tightening of social distance, applications under the fifth round of the Restaurant premises subsidy Scheme, the Commercial bathroom licence holder subsidy Scheme and the Public Entertainment licence holder subsidy Scheme under the fifth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund will be open for application from now until February 18.

The new round of Restaurant subsidy Scheme will grant an one-off subsidy of $50,000 to $250000 to licensees of eligible and operating general restaurants, light refreshment restaurants, floating restaurants and factory canteens according to the floor area specified in their licences. to assist catering premises that provide dining. The scheme is expected to benefit more than 17600 catering premises.

In addition, if each of the above eligible licensed catering premises operates karaoke establishments, nightclubs and bars or pubs at the same time and closes the entire licensed premises in accordance with the instructions, they may apply for an additional one-off subsidy of $25000 according to the relevant business.

The Government will also continue to provide financial support to eligible food factory licensees in food plazas in shopping malls. Each eligible and operating food factory licensee will receive an one-off subsidy of $10,000 to $50,000 according to the area of the licensed premises in operation. If the business is not operated by the licensee, the operator of the food business must declare his support for the licensee's application for the subsidy. It is expected to benefit about 1700 qualified food factory licence holders.

As for lessees of cooked food stalls or light refreshment stalls in Fehd markets and holders of hawker licences to operate cooked food business in public housing estates, each eligible lessee or licensee may also apply for an one-off subsidy of $25000, which is expected to benefit about 1000 operators.

In addition, the Commercial Bath licence Holder subsidy Scheme provides an one-off subsidy of $50,000 to each eligible commercial bathroom licensee, while the Public Entertainment licensee subsidy Scheme provides an one-time subsidy of $50,000 and $10,000 respectively to eligible place of public entertainment licence holders and temporary place of public entertainment licence holders. The scheme is expected to benefit the holders of about 50 commercial bathhouses, about 570 places of public entertainment and temporary places of public entertainment licences.
