“First Financial” quoted news reports that Tesla sold more than 60,000 units in China in December last year. However, due to a surge in orders and insufficient supply of parts such as chips, it is estimated that only orders for October 2021 will be delivered at most, with some orders starting over 70 days, exceeding the original 6-10-week delivery commitment. The delivery date also becomes 12 to 16 weeks.

On the last day of 2021, the price of Model 3 of the two domestic models of Tesla's official website, the rear-wheel drive model 3 increased by 10,000 yuan (the same), and after subsidies, the price rose to 267,000 yuan. The price of the rear-wheel drive Model Y increased to 30.18 million yuan. At this point, all Model Y models no longer enjoy national new energy subsidies due to more than 300,000 yuan.

As the price of bulk raw materials and chips continues to rise, and delivery delays cause unnecessary communication costs, Tesla chose to raise the price this time. Model Y even does not even need subsidies, to some extent actively reduce orders to relieve delivery pressure.
