Australian Pathology Stocks Rise Amid Omicron Worries -- Market Talk

Dow Jones Newswires ·  Nov 28, 2021 22:50

0345 GMT - Shares in Australian pathology firms Sonic Healthcare and Healius are higher even as worries over the impact of the Omicron coronavirus variant unsettle the local equities market. Shares in Sonic and Healius, both of which provide lab testing among their services, are up by 2.5% and 3.1% respectively despite the S&P/ASX 200 laboring to recover its early losses. The gains echo those of earlier this year, when Sonic and Healius shares each put on about 30% over three months as Covid-19's Delta variant spread across Australia and lifted demand for testing services.
