Dow Jones Newswires ·  Nov 7, 2021 21:10

0206 GMT - Chinese stocks are mixed, with aluminum smelters and steelmakers gaining as the country's energy shortage eases. China's National Development and Reform Commission on Saturday said coal production continues to exceed consumption for power generation, which is likely to reduce the risk of output disruptions for the material producers. Yunnan Aluminium Co. is 0.6% higher and Shandong Nanshan Aluminium rises 0.7%. Steelmakers Baoshan Iron & Steel and Angang Steel gain 0.3% and 0.5%, respectively. The Shanghai Composite Index is flat at 3490.97, the Shenzhen Composite Index falls 0.1% to 2403.11 and the ChiNext Price Index is 0.3% higher at 3361.80. (yongchang.chin@wsj.com)
