China XD Plastics Co. shares were up 78% to $1.04 in heavy trade Wednesday.
Volume for the stock was 165 million shares at 12:35 p.m. EDT, compared to its 65-day average volume of 3.6 million shares. China XD Plastics has a public float of 19 million shares.
The stock hit its 52-week high of $1.72 earlier in the session. Shares of the company closed Tuesday's session up 30%.
In September, China XD Plastics said it received a letter from the Listing Qualifications Department of the Nasdaq Stock Market indicating that Nasdaq's staff has determined to deny the company's request for continued listing on Nasdaq. The company is appealing the ruling.
