American automaker Ford Motor(F.US) said on Thursday that it would suspend production at its Hermosillo plant in Sonora, Mexico, on Friday because of a shortage of materials.
Ford had previously suspended production at the Hermosillo plant, which makes Mustang sports utility vehicles (Bronco Sport SUV) and Maverick compact pickups, on Oct. 11-12.
The company did not specify which materials were in short supply, but other carmakers have been trying to address chip shortages as they shifted production to components needed for laptops, mobile phones and video games during the outbreak.
Earlier this month, Ford said it would suspend production at its Flat Rock, Michigan, and some plants in Kansas City, Missouri.
