Stocks to watch: Nanofilm, Keppel, Chuan Hup, Geo Energy, Jumbo

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Thursday (Oct 14):

Nanofilm Technologies International: MZH The tech manufacturer on Thursday (Oct 14) said it has appointed Gary Ho Hock Yong as its new group chief executive officer, effective Jan 1, 2022. It also said it continues to see growth momentum for its businesses year to date despite a volatile business environment amid the Covid-19 pandemic and supply chain disruptions. Shares of Nanofilm closed down S$0.14 or 3.7 per cent at S$3.64 on Wednesday (Oct 13).

Keppel Corp: BN4 The settlement agreement with troubled Brazilian company Sete Brasil, inked 2 years ago and relating to multi-billion-dollar frozen rig jobs, is now effective. The engineering, procurement and construction contracts for 6 oil drilling rigs will be deemed to be amicably terminated, with no penalties or refunds due to any party, Keppel said in a bourse filing on Wednesday (Oct 13) evening. Keppel Corp shares closed S$0.05 or 1 per cent higher at S$5.30 on Wednesday, before the announcement was made.

Chuan Hup Holdings:C33 The mainboard-listed property developer and investor said a collective sale committee was appointed earlier this year to start the collective sale of the GB Building, along Cecil Street. In a filing on Wednesday (Oct 13), Chuan Hup disclosed that the terms and conditions of the collective sale agreement as well as the method of apportionment of the sales proceeds were approved at a 2nd extraordinary general meeting on Oct 7. Shares of Chuan Hup Holdings closed S$0.005 or 2 per cent higher at S$0.25 on Wednesday, before the announcement was made.

Geo Energy Resources: RE4 The Indonesian coal producer no longer has any outstanding US-dollar bonds, having fully redeemed and cancelled its 8 per cent, due-2022 senior notes. This has strengthened its credit profile and has saved the mainboard-listed company up to US$4.8 million in annual financing costs, it said in a bourse filing on Wednesday (Oct 13) evening. Shares of Geo Energy closed flat at S$0.385 on Wednesday, before the announcement was made.

Jumbo Group: 42R The food and beverage player has opened its 4th Kok Kee Wonton Noodle stall in Ang Mo Kio. Jumbo on Wednesday (Oct 13) said this expansion to the north-eastern region of the country is part of its plan to bring its day-to-day concepts to more accessible locations. Jumbo Group shares ended S$0.005 or 1.7 per cent higher at S$0.30 on Wednesday, before the announcement was made.

Oceanus Group: 579 The mainboard-listed food-tech company is extending its services platform with a new associate company, Aquarii, which will provide business advisory services and facilitate the entry of Singapore and international companies into Cambodia. Oceanus has also established a subsidiary, Oceanus Media Global (OMG), to consolidate the group's multimedia brands, the company announced in a news release on Wednesday (Oct 13). Shares of Oceanus Group ended S$0.001 or 2.6 per cent higher at S$0.04 on Wednesday, before the announcement was made.
