Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corp. V, a blank-check company, filed for a $275 million initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.
The company said its sponsor, Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Sponsor V LLC, is an affiliate of Riverstone Investment Group LLC.
The company said it planned to use the Riverstone platform to identify a business that "may advance the objectives of global decarbonization." This includes "the energy and agriculture, industrials, transportation and commercial and residential sectors," the company said.
Riverstone has been involved in the formation of a number of special purpose acquisition companies, including Silver Run Acquisition Corp. and Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corporation II, III and IV, the company said.
The company also said it intends to apply to list its units on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "DCREU."
Citigroup and Credit Suisse are listed as the offering's joint book-running managers.
