DJ Asian Gas Market Remains More Attractive Despite Europe's Record Prices, Gazprom CEO Says -- Market Talk

1239 GMT - The Asian gas market is more attractive for producers and investors despite record-breaking prices in Europe, Gazprom's Chairman of the Management Committee Alexey Miller said Friday at the International Business Congress. Even with European gas prices breaking all kinds of records, the 'Asian premium' remains and flows of liquefied natural gas are going to the Asian market, Miller said. The former deputy energy minister of Russia also noted that the gap from last year across European underground gas storage facilities is almost 23 billion cubic meters, and that Europe is going to enter the autumn/winter period with a gas shortage at its sites. "The question is, how big is the shortage going to be?", he said. (jaime.llinares@wsj.com)
