Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign economy Szijarto announced on social media that Hungary has agreed with Russia on "all details" and "all issues" of the long-term gas delivery agreement, and that the final text of the new agreement will be finalized in September, signed at the end of September and formally entered into force on October 1.
According to the agreement, Hungary will buy 4.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas each year from Gazprom, of which 3.5 billion cubic meters will be transported from the south to Hungary via Serbia and 1 billion cubic meters will be transported through Austria to Hungary. The agreement is valid for 15 years, and the annual delivery of natural gas can be modified after 10 years.
Szijarto did not disclose the price of natural gas in the contract, but said: "the new agreement is much better than the current agreement, which was signed in 1995 and is about to expire this year." (front desk reporter Xu Ming)
