The U.S. Department of Education announced on the 30th that it is investigating five Republican-controlled states, namely, Iowa, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Utah, from imposing mandatory mask orders on schools, which prohibit schools from implementing mandatory mask orders on the grounds that they may discriminate against students with specific health problems. Education Minister Cardona issued a statement saying that it is totally unacceptable for the leaders of these states to put politics above the health and education of their students.
