AmazonIt said on Thursday that it plans to increase its spending on u.s. suppliers by 20% this year to support u.s. small and medium-sized enterprises at a time when the delta mutation may bring more uncertainty.
The company said it plans to purchase products and services worth more than $120 billion this year from more than 200,000 companies in the United States, most of them small and medium-sized enterprises. The 20 per cent increase does not include companies that sell goods on Amazon.Com Inc's website, but companies that provide Amazon.Com Inc with supplies and services for operation.
Amazon.Com Inc quoted a report by Keystone Economics as saying that its spending in 2021 is expected to support 840000 US jobs in construction, transportation, manufacturing and hotels.
