This financing is the bank's first in the health sector.

IHH Healthcare has secured its first sustainability-linked loan after it signed a $300m lending deal with UOB.

In a joint statement, the parties said the loan is under UOB's Sustainability-Linked Financing Framework, which provides clients with pre-approved and externally validated key performance indicators and sustainability performance targets.

With a network spanning over 140 healthcare facilities, including more than 80 hospitals across 10 nations, IHH has committed to being environmentally responsible and socially impactful in its operations. This commitment includes capping carbon growth by 2025 and enhancing waste management to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

As of 31 December 2024, UOB has provided $16.6b in sustainability-linked loans for clients across real estate, construction & infrastructure, industrials and others.
