Novo Tellus unit makes partial offer of 36.5 S cents for 51% stake in Proccuri

A unit of $Procurri(BVQ.SG)$'s largest shareholder Novo Tellus on Monday launched a partial offer to acquire an additional 27.91 percent of Procurri's shares at 36.5 Singapore cents per share.

Mainboard-listed Procurri, a provider of IT lifecycle services and data centre equipment, will remain publicly listed to provide an opportunity for shareholders to participate in the company's future financial performance, it said in a bourse filing.

The offer price represents an estimated premium of 32.7 percent over Procurri's last traded price of 27.5 Singapore cents on March 10, the last full trading day before a trading halt was called on March 11.

Jardine Matheson's offer for Jardine Strategic has room to be improved

Jardine Matheson's offer for Jardine Strategic has left some investors and observers dissatisfied, not least because of the lowball price but also by how the opposing votes by minority investors have been made inconsequential in this deal.

Singapore-based Effissimo calls for independent probe into Toshiba

Singapore-based Effissimo, which is Toshiba's largest shareholder with a 9.9% stake, is calling for an independent investigation into allegations that shareholders were pressured about how to vote on director nominations ahead of last year's annual general meeting.CalPERS and NBIM, the largest US public pension fund and the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, respectively, voted in favour of the independent probe ahead of an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on March 18.

Stocks to watch

$Oceanus^(579.SG)$: The seafood supplier on Friday refuted rumours about a purported move to the Catalist board, an investigation into the group's financials, and its management being in a "pump-and-dump" scheme of the group's shares, calling them "untrue and misleading information". Oceanus shares closed 0.7 Singapore cent or 24.1 percent higher at 3.6 cents on Friday, before it issued its clarification.

$Aspial(A30.SG)$: The jewellery group on Friday announced plans to privatise its subsidiary World Class Global through a scheme of arrangement, to simplify the group's structure. Aspial shares closed 0.1 Singapore cent or 0.7 percent higher at 14.1 cents while World Class Global shares closed 0.7 cent or 7.1 percent lower at 9.2 cents on Friday, before the announcement.

$AMTD IB OV(HKB.SG)$: The investment banking firm, which is dual-listed in New York and Singapore, has established a joint venture with Nasdaq-listed 36Kr and Airstar Digital, a fintech subsidiary of Xiaomi, to provide professional services to "new economy companies and entrepreneurs". Shares of the company on the Singapore Exchange closed unchanged at S$14 on Friday, before the announcement was made.

$EC World Reit(BWCU.SG)$: The real estate investment trust's (Reit) manager is waiving late rental payment penalties incurred by its master lessees, to the tune of S$11 million, which represents about 1.61 percent of the Reit's net tangible assets as at Dec 31, 2020. EC World Reit units closed S$0.01 or 1.4 percent lower at S$0.71 on Friday, before the announcement.
