Australian battery maker Novonix (NVX.US) said on Monday that it has signed a binding offtake agreement with carmaker Stellantis (STLA.US)

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Australian battery manufacturer Novonix (NVX.US) said on Monday that it has signed a binding offtake agreement with car manufacturer Stellantis (STLA.US) to supply high-performance synthetic graphite materials to its battery manufacturing partners in North America. As part of the agreement, the company will supply at least 86,250 metric tons of synthetic graphite from its plant in Chattanooga River, Tennessee to Stellantis battery manufacturing partners in North America between 2026 and 2031, reaching a target volume of 115,000 metric tons.

Chris Burns, CEO of Novonix, said: “The contract allocates the remaining usable production to our Riverside facility, and part of the production will be produced at our planned greenfield facility.”

The Australian company also said it is building a new production facility in the southeastern US with an initial production capacity of 0.03 million tons per year, and plans to expand the facility to 0.075 million tons per year.
