CelcomDigi Looks To South Korea For AI Tech

CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) and South Korea's leading wireless telecommunications operator, SK Telecom, inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects.

CelcomDigi Chief Innovation Officer, T Kugan, and SK Telecom AI Chief Global Officer, S K Chung, signed the MoU today at Seoul's SK Telecom tower.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil, CelcomDigi Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Idham Nawawi and SK Telecom Vice President of AI Strategic Partnership, Will Cho, according to Bernama sources.

Datuk Idham Nawawi said the MoU's focus includes AI use cases, AI services and and new AI business exploration, adding that both companies will share information and cooperate to identify new opportunities for scaling AI services.

In July, CelcomDigi launched its state-of-the-art AI Experience Center (AiX) which serves as a focal point for cross-industry collaboration, synergising technologies such as 5G, AI, extended reality, robotics, analytics and metaverse.
