After previously increasing its orders for advanced process wafers at TSMC, Nvidia's follow-up effect has spread to backend testing factories. On June 24, Nvidia's new Blackwell architecture generated a huge demand for its GB200 and B-series AI chips, with supply unable to keep up with demand. After previously increasing its orders for advanced process wafers at TSMC, Nvidia's follow-up effect has spread to backend testing factories. Daymon Kontrol and Jingyuan Electronics have seen a massive outbreak, with the growth rate of relevant orders in the fourth quarter soaring to twice that of the previous quarter.

Daymon Kontrol has always kept quiet on the movements of individual customers and orders. Jingyuan Electronics stated that its current production capacity is indeed quite high, but declined to comment on individual customers. According to insiders, Jingyuan Electronics has been bombarded with orders from Nvidia and has mobilized all of its production capacity to meet the demand of the large orders.

Industry insiders believe that after reports emerged of Nvidia's increase in orders for TSMC's advanced process wafers, with the increase in output from TSMC, the demand for backend testing will also increase proportionally. TSMC's numbers will reflect on relevant performance and backend testing factories will follow suit.

In a report released by research and consulting firm, they are bullish on Nvidia's GB200 super AI chip, built with the Blackwell architecture, which is expected to ship over a million units by 2025. The industry is optimistic that as TSMC is the exclusive foundry for Nvidia's chips, Daymon Kontrol and Jingyuan Electronics will benefit from the influx of large orders.

Industry analysis suggests that due to the Blackwell architecture, the testing process for Nvidia's GB200 and B-series AI chips is significantly longer than the previous H-series and must go through four continuous processes, including final test, burn-in aging test, back to final test, and finally SLT system-level test. The longer testing time is beneficial to the average selling price (ASP) and gross margin of related collaboration factories and is expected to help boost the profit performance of Daymon Kontrol and Jingyuan Electronics.

Companies related to backend testing equipment:

As a leader in the global semiconductor packaging equipment industry, ASMPT is seen by institutions as having a leading position in the packaging equipment industry and growth potential brought by downstream computing power applications. In terms of business segments, the SEMI business sector revenue is estimated to be HKD 6.365 billion in 2023, accounting for 43.82% of the company's total revenue, while SMT business sector revenue is estimated to be HKD 8.332 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 10%, and accounting for 56.18% of the company's total revenue. On the order side, the SEMI sector has been the first to recover in 23Q4 and continued to rebound in 24Q1. The incremental demand for advanced packaging equipment brought by computing power applications is expected to become the company's main growth driver.
