Hwang In-hoon: Dell is Nvidia's key partner in promoting AI infrastructure

Nvidia and Dell have joined forces once again.

On the 20th, Dell announced the launch of a series of AI PCs equipped with Qualcomm processors and reached a strategic cooperation with Nvidia.

Nvidia CEO Hwang In-hoon said that the cooperation with Dell will promote artificial intelligence to more customers and help the company build its own “artificial intelligence factory”.

Lao Huang said, “We hope to use the power of generative AI to empower every company in the world, not only to provide a small black box, but also to provide very complex one-stop AI infrastructure services.”

When talking about the new partnership with Dell, Lao Huang said that joining forces with Dell will help companies and government agencies build their own artificial intelligence “factories.” Their first customers were ServiceNow, run by Bill McDermott.

When cooperating with Dell this time, Lao Huang had far-reaching considerations.

As one of the world's largest providers of computing infrastructure, Dell serves government agencies and businesses of all kinds — a market that Nvidia does not directly touch.

Nvidia wants to diversify its revenue sources.

Although Nvidia's revenue has risen sharply over the past year, growth is mainly dependent on a few large data center operators. Among them, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet are its biggest customers.

Wong In-hoon explained that Nvidia's future expansion strategy relies on motivating more institutions and companies to develop their own artificial intelligence capabilities to stimulate demand for Nvidia products. For this reason, they needed storage, networking, and computing power from Dell.

As a result, Dell has become an indispensable partner for Nvidia.

Michael Dell, the founder of Dell, later exchanged business with Lao Huang: “The reason Nvidia was successful was because it anticipated the transformation to artificial intelligence and surpassed all competitors in terms of innovation.”

Nvidia and Dell, one is the most valuable technology giant in terms of market capitalization after Microsoft and Apple, and the other is a top PC manufacturer. The two sides are sympathetic and join forces, and the AI path is getting wider and wider.
