According to reports, Brookfield Asset Management plans to spend $500 million to acquire a majority stake in Indian renewable energy company Leap Green Energy.
The Zhitong Finance App learned that, according to reports, Brookfield Asset Management (BAM.US) plans to spend 500 million US dollars to acquire a majority stake in Indian renewable energy company Leap Green Energy. Brookfield Asset Management will invest in Leap Green Energy through its Global Transformation Fund, the report said. The fund specifically invests in clean energy and other fields, and has already raised 10 billion US dollars in the first round of fundraising in February this year.
The report said the investment could drive Leap Green Energy's plans to expand its wind power production capacity in India. The current operating capacity of Leap Green Energy's portfolio exceeds 750MW, and plans to expand to more than 7GW by 2029.
