Shimada Kakegawa Shinkin Bank and NTT DATA, Inc. (hereafter, NTT DATA) will begin joint studies utilizing spatial computing for business transformation in the Shinkin Bank industry from 2024/5.
Shimada Kakegawa Shinkin Bank's knowledge of the Shinkin Bank industry and business, and spatial computing such as metaverse, AR/VR, etc. owned by NTT DATAnoteWe aim to solve issues faced by local communities and the Shinkin Bank industry by utilizing related technology and know-how. In this initiative, study sessions on spatial computing and workshops to examine ideas for creating use cases will be held over 2 months. Prototype development for ideas born from there is also carried out in parallel, planning and drafting highly realistic business use cases, and even creating a roadmap for realizing them.
Both companies will proceed with application studies of spatial computing to actual business through this initiative, and will continue to contribute to the development of the Shinkin Bank industry and local communities as partners in solving customer and regional issues.

backgrounds

Recently, there are many issues in local communities and the Shinkin Bank industry, such as a decline in the production labor population, a decline in small and medium-sized enterprises, response to domestic financial policies, and response to climate change risks.
Under the management vision of “SHINKINBANK that grows together with customers,” the Shimada Kakegawa Shinkin Bank is working to resolve issues in the local community while cooperating with small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals in the region.
NTT DATA aims to solve a variety of technology-driven issues by utilizing the characteristics of spatial computing, such as “high sense of realism and immersion,” “metaverse-like spatial production,” and “actions and experiences that cannot be done in real life.”
Because it is a Shinkin Bank that is rooted in the community and has been close to customers, we will use spatial computing to create new customer contact points closer to face-to-face meetings, and will begin this initiative to solve regional and business issues.

Overview (Features)

In this initiative, the Shimada Kakegawa Shinkin Bank will provide knowledge of the Shinkin Bank industry and Shinkin Bank operations, and NTT DATA will provide technology and know-how related to spatial computing such as the metaverse, AR/VR, etc., which has promoted research and development until now. By multiplying the knowledge and assets of both companies, we will consider transforming the Shinkin Bank business and creating use cases to realize solutions to regional issues that the Shinkin Bank industry is aiming for.

Specific initiatives mainly consist of three components: “input sessions,” “workshops,” and “quick prototyping.” As a final results report, it is assumed that a roadmap and proposal will be prepared to realize brushed up use cases. The period is expected to be approximately 2 months.
