This Qifu Technology Insider Increased Their Holding By 115% Last Year

Insiders were net buyers of Qifu Technology, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:QFIN ) stock during the past year. That is, insiders bought more stock than they sold.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Qifu Technology Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Chairman of the Board Hongyi Zhou for US$25m worth of shares, at about US$15.96 per share. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of US$20.67. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It's great to see that Qifu Technology insiders own 14% of the company, worth about US$444m. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
