Singapore's Straits Times Index started the week in the positive territory on Monday, despite less than impressive activity on Wall Street over the weekend.
During the day, the benchmark Singapore Strait Times Index ranged between 3,281.36 and 3,303.66, ending 0.39% or 12.96 points higher at 3,303.66.
In company news, shares of AsiaPhos (SGX:5WV) crashed over 14% after the company posted an attributable loss of SG$447,000 for the quarter ended March 31, lower compared with the loss of SG$658,000 in the year-ago period.
Shares of Genting Singapore (SGX:G13) were up nearly 5% after the company's net profit ballooned 92% in the first quarter of the year to SG$247.4 million, compared with SG$129.2 million in the year-ago period.
Second Chance Properties (SGX:528) was down over 2% after it entered into a share sale and purchase agreement with U Property Holdings for the sale of the company's wholly-owned subsidiary, New Chance Properties for an aggregate consideration of SG$9.5 million.
