S&P 500, DJIA and Nasdaq Composite Glowing Green After FOMC Leaves Rates As Is

The market rebounded into the green but pulled back following the FOMC's no-change rate decision and Federal Reserve President Joerome Powell's Press conference.

The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ traded -0.34% after just after close, while the $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ climbed +0.23% and the $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$ gained -0.33%.

Meanwhile, the $U.S. 10-Year Treasury Notes Yield (US10Y.BD)$ sold lower at 4.63% shortly after 3:30PM EST, while the $U.S. 2-Year Treasury Notes Yield (US2Y.BD)$ shed fell to 4.96.

Several stocks moved significantly during the session in action unrelated to the Fed. As of shortly after 2 p.m. ET:

-- $New York Community Bancorp (NYCB.US)$ rose 28% to $3.3689 on improved earnings.

-- $Pinterest (PINS.US)$ gained 20% to $39.78 on well-received quarterly results.

-- $Viking Holdings (VIK.US)$ added 9.5% to $25.89 in its first trading day following an initial public offering.

-- $CVS Health (CVS.US)$ fell 17% to $55.52 on disappointing earnings.
