According to a media analysis, Apple has quietly set up a “dream team” of artificial intelligence experts. According to reports, Apple's team has attracted artificial intelligence engineers from rivals such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Apple (AAPL.US)'s progress in the field of artificial intelligence has always been criticized, but according to a media analysis, the company has quietly set up a “dream team” composed of artificial intelligence experts. According to reports, Apple's team attracted artificial intelligence engineers from rivals such as Google (GOOGL.US), Amazon (AMZN.US), and Microsoft (MSFT.US).

Since hiring John Giannandrea as senior vice president of machine learning and artificial intelligence strategy in 2018, Apple has brought in at least 36 AI experts from Google. The company also has at least 10 former Amazon AI experts and at least 8 AI experts from Microsoft and Netflix (NFLX.US). The analysis found that Apple has also attracted artificial intelligence professionals from Meta (META.US), Uber (UBER.US), Intel (INTC.US), and ByteDance.

The analysis added that although most of Apple's artificial intelligence team works in offices in California and Seattle, the company also has a research lab in Zurich, Switzerland.

Apple has yet to launch artificial intelligence products for consumers, while competitors such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon have released big language models (LLM) and artificial intelligence use cases. Apple's stock price has fallen 10% so far this year due to a failure to make a difference in the AI boom, while most other members of the US “Big Seven” have risen steadily.

Most analysts believe Apple won't announce any major artificial intelligence advancements until at least June's Global Developers Conference. Some analysts also expect that Apple will not reveal details until the latest iPhone is released in September.
