On the evening of the 26th Beijing time, the chief financial officer of French aircraft manufacturer Airbus (Airbus) said yesterday that Airbus is increasing production of its A350 aircraft due to increased consumer demand rather than the ongoing crisis of its US competitor Boeing.
Toulouse-based Airbus announced on Thursday that it plans to increase the productivity of its long-range aircraft to 12 per month in 2028.
When asked if Airbus is benefiting from Boeing's instability, Airbus Chief Financial Officer Thomas Toepfer said, “I would say this clearly reflects the very strong commercial momentum we are seeing with the A350.”
Airbus reports that the total number of commercial aircraft orders for the quarter was 170, of which nearly half were A350-based variants.
“As a result, we received a very, very strong order volume,” Toepfer said, adding that this momentum is expected to continue.
