Zhitong Finance App learned that Nvidia (NVDA.US) has agreed to acquire Israeli startup Run:ai, which develops software for processing artificial intelligence computing resources, which was founded by OmriGeller and Ronender in 2018.
Run:ai has maintained close cooperation with Nvidia since 2020, Nvidia said in a statement on Wednesday. The company did not disclose the terms of the deal, but Israeli media said the acquisition was valued at around $700 million.
According to foreign media reports, Nvidia also agreed to buy another Israeli startup, DeciAI. Nvidia declined to comment. The report said that the terms of the deal are currently unknown.
According to reports, Israel is Nvidia's second most important market. Currently, Nvidia has more than 20,000 employees worldwide and about 3,200 employees in Israel. The chipmaker has also completed several other deals in the country. The last major deal in Israel was the $7 billion acquisition of Mellanox Technologies Ltd., in 2020.
