KUALA LUMPUR (April 22): Avaland Bhd formed partnerships with six companies to provide sustainable home fittings and finishings for its ongoing and upcoming projects in a signing ceremony at the developer’s Collaboration of Sustainability event on Monday.

The six companies are Duravit Asia Ltd, Grohe Malaysia, Guocera Sdn Bhd, Panasonic Malaysia, Signature Cabinet Sdn Bhd and Toshiba Elevator. Through these partnerships, Avaland hopes to provide its developments with water and energy-saving technologies, utilise green materials as well as promote clean air through eco-friendly practices.

At the event, Avaland chief operating officer Aw Sei Cheh said these partnerships are in conjunction with the annual International Mother Earth Day. The developer aims to reduce its ecological footprint and promote responsible practices across its supply chain.

“Our efforts to green our supply chain, spanning from sourcing to implementing eco-certified and energy-efficient processes, underscore our steadfast commitment to environmental responsibility. Embracing this global initiative, we warmly invite all stakeholders to join us in leading industry-wide change and shaping a more sustainable future, which will be part of our footprint for generations to come.

“Through collaboration and innovation, we're charting a course towards a greener and more sustainable future. Our focus on ecological and environmental products and practices, along with our dedication to ergonomics, reflects our principle in creating spaces that benefit both people and the planet,” Aw added.

Some of the developer’s ongoing luxury residential developments, namely Aetas Damansara and Aetas Seputeh, have both achieved GreenRE Platinum certifications. The event also highlighted that five of its other ongoing projects — Alira Subang Jaya, Alora Residences, Sanderling, Anja Residences & Signature Retail and Casa Embun, have all achieved GreenRE certifications.

Moving forward, the developer also aims to catalyse systemic change within the industry and inspire the broader community. This includes preparing developments for eligible green financing and offering opportunities for the community to embrace sustainable principles.
