Both AMD Radeon RX 7000 & NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPUs are available below their official MSRP in Germany as the discounting spree continues.
German PC Builders Are Enjoying GPU Discounts With All AMD Radeon RX 7000 & NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Graphics Cards Available Below Their MSRP
The last few weeks have been wild in terms of prices as AMD Radeon RX 7000 GPUs are retailing below MSRP globally, and by the looks of it, things don't stop just yet. 3DCenter has tracked the pricing of AMD's GPUs across German retailers, specifically Geizhals. Interestingly, the data also includes a comparison with US markets, which shows how aggressive the drop was in the region.
Based on 3DCenter's compilation, the outlet has compared US MSRPs and how the retail price differs in the region and drawn parallels with EU MSRPs and current retail pricing. Based on the US differences, the average GPU price drop is recorded at -2.9%, while in Germany, the drop was -11%, which is indeed huge considering that EU pricing is slightly higher considering the regional taxation policies. These average price drops include both AMD Radeon RX 7000 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPU lineups.

The GPU that witnessed the most significant drop was AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XT, recorded at €739. Other models, like AMD's Radeon RX 7600, saw notable drops, suggesting that the discount wave affected every other retailer.
Moreover, at NVIDIA's camp, things did tend to look progressive as well, as GeForce RTX 40 mid-tier models saw yet again formidable discounts, especially the more budget-friendly ones such as the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 series, all witnessing double-digit price drops. The graphics card with the least price reduction was the GeForce RTX 4090 which is just -2.6% below MSRP. Both US & EU are now seeing reductions in the prices for the flagship RTX 40 card after months of it hovering around the $2000 US mark. The card is now close to its official MSRP of $1599 US in the US too.
Now, the reason behind such price drops is simple. We are currently in the timeframe where companies are preparing next-gen consumer GPU solutions with RDNA 4 and Blackwell on the horizon (expected in 2H 2024); hence, they are focusing on inventory corrections and reducing levels to accommodate the upcoming units. It was recently highlighted how the older RDNA 2 GPUs are seeing "Dead-Level" inventories, leading to price hikes across certain models which don't make them look as attractive as they once were against the RDNA 3 family.
So, for those looking to transition toward RDNA 3 or even the Ada Lovelace series, now might be the best time to snag some units up, or you can take a risk or wait even further since the drop is expected to continue moving ahead.
