The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to reports, Israeli automotive technology company Mobileye Global (MBLY.US) plans to deliver at least 46 million new driver-assistance chips within the next few years. As of press release, Mobileye initially rose 6.42% to $32.065.
Nimrod Nehushtan, Mobileye's executive vice president of commercial strategy and development, said in an interview: “The company is selling the EyeQ6 Lite in all major markets around the world, and cars using this technology will be launched by the middle of this year.”
Nehushtan added: “This 46 million represents the amount of EyeQ6 Lite (business) we have won so far.” The identity of the customer was not disclosed. Mobileye's customers include Volkswagen and Porsche.
When MobilEye launched the EyeQ6 in 2022, it touted it as the most advanced driver assistance chip to date. The EyeQ6L (or “Lite”) is said to have 4.5 times the computing power of its previous generation and can support all core advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
