Mercury NZ Ltd. reported a rise in spot electricity prices due to lower national inflows, with an average of $195/MWh in Auckland and high forward prices reflecting gas supply uncertainty. Despite varied inflows, effective portfolio management led to strong hydro, geothermal, and wind generation outputs, with hydro forecasts remaining stable for the year. The company also saw increased yields in both commercial and mass market segments, bolstering financial performance amidst a national demand spike driven by South Island irrigation needs.
