The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to statistical analysis by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in March 2024, production and sales of buses and trucks among the main types of commercial vehicles increased. In March 2024, commercial vehicle production and sales completed 437,000 units and 458,000 units respectively, up 88.1% and 82.8%, respectively, and 0.7% and 5.6% year-on-year, respectively. In March 2024, production and sales of buses reached 50,000 units and 53,000 units respectively, up 67.4% and 48.7%, respectively, and 4.2% and 17.7% year-on-year, respectively. Compared with the previous month, production and sales of all three types of buses showed a marked increase; compared with the same period last year, production and sales of large buses and medium buses all showed relatively rapid growth, while light bus production declined slightly and sales increased by double digits.
From January to March 2024, bus production and sales were all 114,000 units, up 11.3% and 13.6%, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, production and sales of all three types of buses increased to varying degrees. Among them, the growth rate of medium-sized buses was the most remarkable.
In March 2024, truck production and sales completed 388,000 units and 405,000 units respectively, up 91.1% and 88.4% from the previous month, and 0.2% and 4.1%, respectively. Compared with the previous month, production and sales of all four types of trucks showed rapid growth; compared with the same period last year, production and sales of medium trucks and minivans all showed double-digit growth, while production of heavy trucks and light trucks declined, and sales increased slightly.
From January to March 2024, truck production and sales completed 883,000 units and 919,000 units, respectively, up 4.4% and 9.7% year-on-year, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, light truck production declined slightly and sales increased slightly. Production and sales of the other three types of trucks all increased to varying degrees.
