Singapore Shares Start Week Marginally in Red; Baker Technology Shares Rise 9% as Board Proposes Dividend Payment

Singapore's Strait Times Index opened muted on Monday, tracking mixed results in US and European markets, before slipping marginally into the negative territory at the close.

During the day, the benchmark Singapore Strait Times Index ranged between 3,210.35 and 3,223.53, ending 0.07% or 2.27 points higher at 3,215.99.

In company news, shares of Baker Technology (SGX:BTP) surged 9% after the board recommended paying a final dividend of SG$0.015 per share.

Shares of Keppel (SGX:BN4) were hardly moved after Glass Lewis issued a controversy alert for the shareholders ahead of the conglomerate's annual general meeting on April 19.

Shares of Siam Cement (SGX:TSCD) were up nearly 2% after the board proposed a final dividend of 0.31185 baht per Singapore depository receipt.
