NiSource announces new leadership appointment

NiSource has announced that Vince Parisi, who was recently named as the interim president of the Indiana-based subsidiary NIPSCO, has
formally been named president and chief operating officer, according to a release.

Parisi, who has been the interim leader of NIPSCO in addition to his role leading Columbia Gas of Ohio, has extensive experience and familiarity
with electric operations and Indiana, the release said. Prior to becoming president of Columbia Gas of Ohio in June 2020, he served as
president of the U.S. utilities for AES Corp., and president and CEO of Indianapolis Power & Light Company and Dayton Power and Light
Company, the release said.

Robert Heidorn will replace Parisi as president and chief operating officer of Columbia Gas of Ohio.

National Park Service to hire five teens for summer work

Indiana Dunes National Park has jobs for five teenagers this summer, according to a release. The Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program is
a work-learn-earn program for teens 15-18. Deadline to apply is April 30, the release said.

Participants, who will be selected by random draw, will be paid $7.25 an hour for the 40-hour work week. The program runs from June 2 to
Aug. 10 and applicants should be prepared to work the entire length of the program. Youth jobs include working as part of a crew to do a
variety of manual labor tasks, normally outdoors, the release said.

To be eligible, participants must be U.S. citizens and 15 years old before June 2, but not turn 19 years old before Aug. 10, the release
said. The YCC application form is available through high school guidance offices or from the Indiana Dunes National Park Office at

Franciscan WorkingWell to host free solutions lunch

Franciscan WorkingWell is hosting a free lunch event April 24 to help attendees learn more about employer-based health and wellness
programs, according to a release.

As experts in the field, Franciscan representatives can explain how this medical model can improve the health of employees as well as a
participating company’s bottom line, the release said. Lunch topics include advanced primary care/employer-sponsored clinics, cost-saving
medial models, HEALTHeACCESS, WorkingWell, advanced imaging, HEALTHeLIFESTYLE and more.

The event is scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sand Creek Country Club, 1001 Sand Creek Drive, Chesterton. The event is

Northwest Health releases annual community benefit report

Northwest Health has released its annual community benefit report, outlining the contributions it made to the health of its patients and the impact on
the region’s economy last year, according to a release.

In 2023, Northwest Health shared that the organization provided care at 933,400 patient encounters across its three hospitals, Northwest Medical Group and other sites of care.

The report also shows the organization was a significant contributor to the economic health of the region with the health system’s impact
totaling $433.9 million in 2023, the release said.

In 2023, the system provided $79.4 million in charity and uncompensated care for the community’s most vulnerable and paid $49.65
million in taxes that support civic resources and services, the release said. The system also reported a payroll of $296.5 million. To

LaPorte Franciscan WorkingWell opens in temporary location

Franciscan WorkingWell’s LaPorte office is currently operating out of a temporary location pending the opening of a new facility in early
May, according to a release.

Franciscan WorkingWell is located on the second floor of the building at 900 I St., La Porte. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are recommended, the release said.

Occupational health essentials currently available at the temporary location include drug screens (DOT and non-DOT), breath alcohol testing, DOT physicals, post-offer physicals, workers’ compensation evaluations and treatment, the release said.

The new Franciscan WorkingWell location at 400 Legacy Plaza in LaPorte is scheduled to open in early May. More information about services at the temporary and new location are available by calling 219-575-6055.
