According to the Zhitong Finance App, Jianye Real Estate (00832) announced its 2023 results, with revenue of approximately RMB 19.261 billion, down about 20.0% from 2022. Gross margin was 10.2%, up 2.3 percentage points from 2022. The loss attributable to the company's equity holders was approximately RMB 3.244 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 56.83%; the basic loss per share was RMB 110.65 points.
According to the announcement, the decline in earnings was mainly due to the combined impact of the macroeconomy and the downturn in the real estate market, delivery volume declined during the year, leading to a decrease in carry-over revenue.
The increase in gross margin was mainly due to the increase in the share of sales of relatively high-margin property projects from about 89.9% in 2022 to about 92.5% in 2023; and the lifting of the pandemic revived people's enthusiasm for consumption, increasing the share of other income from relatively high-profit property leasing and hotel operations from about 2.6% in 2022 to about 5.1% in 2023.
