According to the Zhitong Finance App, Meilan Airport (00357) announced results for the year ended December 31, 2023. The group achieved operating income of 2,086 billion yuan (RMB, same below) during the period, an increase of 82.72%; net loss to mother was 136 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 12.42%; and a basic loss of 0.29 yuan per share.

According to the announcement, the Group's total aviation business revenue in 2023 was 975 million yuan, an increase of 169.88% over the same period in 2022. The increase in aviation business revenue was mainly due to increased revenue due to a sharp increase in passenger and cargo throughput and the transfer of aviation business revenue generated from leasing the assets of Haikou Meilan International Airport Co., Ltd. into the company.

In 2023, Meilan Airport made breakthrough progress in terms of time volume. In June 2023, the Civil Aviation Administration of China approved the adjustment of the peak hourly capacity standard of Meilan Airport from 30 to 40 flights/hour (that is, the flight schedule coordination parameters do not exceed 39 flights/hour; the use of the remaining 1 flight is determined by the Civil Aviation Administration), and the flight schedule capacity increased by 33%. Subsequently, the Civil Aviation Administration initiated the coordination of additional flight schedules at some airports. Meilan Airport released 5 flights per hour in the first round, 23 airlines received incremental hours, and plans to operate 52 routes. All routes have been scheduled and successfully operated.

As of December 31, 2023, Meilan Airport operated a total of 254 departure routes, including 218 domestic routes, 29 international and regional routes, and 7 international cargo routes; 68 new routes were added over the previous year, including 45 domestic routes, 20 international and regional routes, and 3 international cargo routes. There are 146 navigable cities, including 121 domestic destinations, 17 international and regional destinations, and 8 international cargo destinations; 31 new destinations were added over the previous year, including 12 domestic destinations, 16 international and regional destinations, and 3 international cargo destinations. There are 51 operating airlines, including 35 domestic airlines, 12 international and regional airlines, and 4 international cargo airlines; 16 new airlines were added over the same period last year, including 2 domestic airlines, 11 international and regional airlines, and 3 international cargo airlines.
