According to the Zhitong Finance App, Esprit Global (00330) announced full-year results for 2023, with revenue of HK$5.912 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 16.3%; losses attributable to the company's shareholders of HK$2,339 billion, an increase of 252.26% over the previous year; and basic and diluted losses of HK$0.83 per share.
According to the announcement, compared with 2022, the decline in revenue this year is mainly due to the following reasons: poor macroeconomic environment in Europe (especially Germany), high interest rates due to high inflationary pressure; continued geopolitical tension around the world, especially the conflict in Ukraine; and high energy costs continue to affect consumers' purchasing power, especially in Germany.
