According to the Zhitong Finance App, Beijing Gas Blue Sky (06828) announced the results for the year ended December 31, 2023. The group achieved revenue of HK$2.15 billion, an increase of 37.09%; profit attributable to shareholders of the company was HK$91.291 million, an increase of 389.63% over the previous year; and a profit of HK0.4 cents per share.
In 2023, the Group's total gas sales volume was 734 million cubic meters (full year of 2022:379 million cubic meters), a sharp increase of 93.5% over the same period last year, mainly due to an increase in natural gas demand throughout 2023; and at the end of 2022, the company completed the acquisition of the Guangxi Tengxian City Gas Project, bringing significant growth to the Group's urban gas business.
The increase in the Group's profit during the year was mainly due to the Group's completion of the acquisition of the Guangxi Tengxian City Gas Project at the end of 2022, contributing to the Group's urban gas business and the Group's profit during the year; the profit attributable to the CNPC Jingtang LNG Co., Ltd. project increased during the year compared to the full year of 2022; and the legal and professional expenses incurred during the year were reduced compared to the full year of 2022. This is because the Group has confirmed relevant professional fees for the resumption of the company's stock trading throughout 2022, and the related expenses are non-recurring projects.
