According to the Zhitong Finance App, Asia Finance (00662) announced the annual results for the year ended December 31, 2023. The group obtained insurance income of HK$2,456 million during the period, an increase of 19.04%; profit attributable to shareholders of HK$347 million, an increase of 181.46% over the previous year; basic profit per share of HK37.2 cents; and the proposed final dividend of HK5 cents per share.
According to the announcement, the increase in profit attributable to shareholders was driven by a number of key factors, including outstanding performance in stock trading and investment, year-on-year growth in profits, satisfactory insurance business performance (partly benefiting from the application of the new accounting standard HKFRS 17 relating to insurance contracts), and most joint ventures and associated companies also achieved stable returns.
