The Group's audited turnover was HK$32.698 billion, up 4.3% from last year. Achieved audited net profit of HK$3,424 million, up 48.0% year over year. In 2023, the economic situation in mainland China and Hong Kong continued to improve, but the international geographical situation was still tense, and the global economic situation was complex and changing. Under the leadership of the board of directors and administrative team, the Group faced various challenges, persisted in industrial innovation, continuously overcame difficulties, and strived to strengthen internal control, deepen the integration of finance and production, ensure the stable operation and development of various core businesses, and achieved satisfactory business and profit performance.

The profit of the infrastructure environmental protection business for the year was HK$2,321 million, up 20.5% from the previous year, accounting for about 64.2% of the Group's net business profit*. The increase in profits is mainly due to the rapid decline in epidemic control factors since the beginning of the year, a sharp increase in toll road traffic and toll revenue, and a sharp increase in subsequent travel conditions, and a surge in travel demand. During the year, the Group followed the national strategy, further deepened the strategic layout of the Yangtze River Delta region and other key regions and watersheds, built more high-standard and modern environmental protection projects, and maintained a leading position in the first tier of China's water and environmental protection industry.
