As the first quarter comes to a close this week, the benchmark S&P 500 index (SP500) has returned 10.2% year-to-date and is hovering near all-time trading highs.
Despite the S&P 500 trading near record highs, it hasn't all been green for the index. Of the 500 participants in the index, 342 of the companies find themselves trading in positive territory, while the remainder are all in negative territory.
