The London Stock Exchange (OTCPK:LDNXF) (OTCPK:LNSTY) said Monday it will start listing cryptocurrency exchange-traded notes on May 28, subject to the approval of the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority.
It will accept applications for trading such crypto ETNs from April 8, the exchange said in a notice.
The company said earlier this month that it will accept applications for the admission of bitcoin (BTC-USD) and ether (ETH-USD) crypto ETNs, but will only allow professional investors to trade in the securities.
Issuers will have until April 15 to submit a "base prospectus" in proposing to have the securities listed on May 28. LSE chose May 28 for listing crypto ETNs in order “to enable the maximum number of issuers to be present in the market on the first day of trading.”
The notice comes as bitcoin (BTC-USD) resumed its rally, surging 7.3% to above $70K in midafternoon trading. Ether (ETH-USD), too, shrugged off its recent corrective phase, jumping 7.2% to $3.62K.
