According to the Zhitong Finance App, Shangri-La (Asia) (00069) announced the results for the year ended December 31, 2023. The group obtained consolidated revenue of US$2.142 billion, an increase of 46.5% over the previous year; profit attributable to the company owners was US$184 million, with a loss of US$159 million in the same period last year; profit per share was 5.17 US cents, and a final dividend of 15 HK cents per share was to be paid.
According to the announcement, the increase in revenue is mainly due to the recovery of business in mainland China and Hong Kong since the lifting of the blockade and travel restrictions in early 2023. Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia and the rest of the world where the company operates are also benefiting from the return of mainland Chinese tourists.
