According to the Zhitong Finance App, JD Health (06618) announced its annual results for the year ended December 31, 2023. The group achieved revenue of 53.53 billion yuan (RMB, same below) during the period, an increase of 14.54% over the previous year; profit attributable to shareholders was 2.142 billion yuan, a sharp increase of 463.49% over the previous year; and the basic profit per share was 0.69 yuan.
According to the announcement, the increase in total revenue is mainly due to a 13.1% increase in commodity revenue from sales of pharmaceuticals and health products from 40.4 billion yuan in 2022 to 45.7 billion yuan in 2023. The growth in product revenue is mainly driven by the increase in the number of active users, additional purchases by users, the continuous increase in the online penetration rate of pharmaceutical and health product sales, and the abundance of product categories.
Service revenue from online platforms, digital marketing and other services increased 23.7% from 6.4 billion yuan in 2022 to 7.9 billion yuan in 2023. The increase in the Group's service revenue is mainly due to the increase in digital marketing service fees, mainly due to the increase in the number of advertisers on the platform, which is in line with the continued growth of transactions on the Group platform; and the increase in commissions, mainly due to the increase in sales volume of third-party merchants on the Group's online platform.
During the reporting period, the company's business maintained high-quality growth. Led by technological innovation, the Group continues to expand medical and health service scenarios and the supply of medical resources to provide more users with high-quality products and convenient services. As of December 31, 2023, the number of annual active users in the past 12 months reached 172 million, and the average number of online consultations per day for the whole of 2023 has exceeded 450,000.
