Why use Screener

There are thousands of stocks listed on exchanges in the United States alone, which implies huge investment opportunities and burdensome stock screening tasks.

To most individual investors, being effective in stock screening and focusing on investment portfolios are their priorities.

Just like Charlie Munger explained how he and Buffett used ‘focus investing’ to beat the market, saying:

Our investment style has been given a name-focus investing-which implies ten holdings, not one hundred or four hundred.

Stock Screeners provide different criteria to filter stocks that meet your needs. Keep in mind, doing research is also a must for your successful investment.

2. Make your own customized combinations

A challenge with using screeners is determining what criteria to use for your search.

The Screener on moomoo supports four dimensions of stock screening: Range, Quotes, Financial and Technical respectively.

You can mix them into hundreds of different customized combinations according to your criteria.

  • Range:

Region: US, HK, CN, SG

Industry: in alphabetical order

  • Quotes:

Here are detailed quotations of stocks: Market Cap, Price, Turnover, Volume,PE..., etc..

Refine your search for stocks by setting the parameters in each of the filter categories.

  • Financial:

Financial indicators are helpful to investors who prefer fundamental analysis, which mainly focuses on the quality and financial results of a candidate.

  • Technical:

To provide technical indicators for different periods, suitable for trend investors.

For example, if you’re interested in stocks of U.S. markets, market cap between 10B - 100B USD, PE between 10 - 30, net profit growth over 30%, ROE over 10%..., you can select them only by setting several parameters altogether.

After checking the results, your preferences could be saved in the cloud.

Simply speaking, no matter what kind of investors, you can find your favorite metrics to screen your stocks. A powerful multi-feature screener could help you make investment decisions more efficient.
