According to the Zhitong Finance App, Electric Energy Industry (00006) announced its results for the full year of 2023, with revenue of HK$1,292 billion, an increase of 2.13% over the previous year. Profit attributable to shareholders was HK$6.03 billion, an increase of 6% year-on-year. Profit per share was HK$2.82, and the final dividend was HK$2.04 per share.
According to the announcement, the UK is the Group's largest operating market, bringing the Group a profit contribution of HK$2,808 billion (2022: HK$2,517 billion). Although the market has always been under inflationary pressure, the Group's business operates under a regulatory framework, so it can bring stable profits to the Group.
The Australian business brought the Group a profit contribution of HK$1,265 billion (2022: HK$1,342 billion) during the review period. Although the Australian dollar is still weak against the Hong Kong dollar, the performance of local operating companies has remained stable, bringing stable revenue to the Group.
