Singaporean Shares Fall on Friday; Ley Choon Group's Shares Surge 5%

Singapore Strait Times Index fell on Friday at the close, after global equities took a hit overnight.

During the day, the benchmark index ranged between 3,155.31 and 3,180.52, ending 0.42% or 13.44 points lower at 3,172.96.

In economic news, Singapore's final unemployment rate was 2% in December 2023, unchanged from the flash reading released in January.

In corporate news, Ley Choon Group's (SGX:Q0X) shares surged 5% after the company made the final bullet repayment for all outstanding amounts it owed to its lenders.

CSE Global's (SGX:544) shares fell 2% after the international technology group proposed a private placement of new shares to raise SG$24 million for acquisitions and investments.

Meanwhile, LifeBrandz (SGX:1D3) posted an attributable loss to the owners of SG$701,000 for the six months ended Jan. 31, 2024, a slight improvement from SG$707,000 in the year-ago period.
