Singapore Strait Times Index stayed in positive territory on Thursday at the close, despite the global market closing mixed overnight.
During the day, the benchmark index ranged between 3,162.63 and 3,190.21, ending 0.81% or 25.68 points higher at 3,186.40.
In company news, RH Petrogas' (SGX:T13) shares surged 10% following news that its subsidiary, Petrogas had discovered an oil-bearing reservoir at its recently drilled Piarawi-1 exploration well in Southwest Papua, Indonesia.
Singapore Airlines (SGX:C6L) share jumped nearly 0.5% after the company revealed that it will redeem SG$750 million in outstanding 3.03% bonds on their maturity on March 28 to holders on record as of March 21.
Meanwhile, Singtel (SGX:Z74) refuted claims in an article by the Australian Financial Review that the telecom company is in talks to offload its subsidiary, Optus, to Brookfield for SG$16 billion.
