Gelonghui, March 13 | China Everbright Water (01857.HK) announced that the consortium formed with the participation of Everbright Water signed a franchise agreement today to obtain the second phase and first phase of the Zhangcun River Water Quality Purification Plant in Laoshan, Qingdao, Shandong (Qingdao Zhangcun River Project), involving a total investment of about RMB 688 million.
The Qingdao Zhangcun River project will be invested, constructed, operated and maintained by a project company established by the consortium (Everbright Water holds 49% of the project company's shares) under the BOT (Construction-Operate-Transfer) model. The franchise period is 30 years (including the construction period). The project will use an all-underground construction format, which mainly includes the construction of the second phase of the Qingdao Zhangcun River Plant, with a design scale of 60,000 cubic meters of sewage treatment per day; and upgrading the first phase of the Qingdao Zhangcun River Plant (40,000 cubic meters of sewage treatment scale per design day). After the completion of the upgrading and renovation project, the main effluent water quality indicators for the first and second phases of the Qingdao Zhangcun River Plant will implement the “Surface Water Environmental Quality Standard” (GB3838-2002) Class IV standard, and the other indicators will implement the “Urban Sewage Treatment Plant Pollutant Discharge Standard” (GB18918-2002) Level A standard. The treated tailwater will be disinfected and used as ecological water for the Zhangcun River.
The implementation of the Qingdao Zhangcun River Project will help further improve the municipal sewage collection and treatment system in the area covered by the Zhangcun River to better meet the growing local sewage treatment needs. The acquisition of this project will also further enhance Everbright Water's water treatment service capabilities in Qingdao and consolidate the company's position in the local market. Everbright Water will work closely with other members of the consortium to make the Qingdao Zhangcun River project a high-quality benchmark project, providing a good guarantee for the environmental quality of the Zhangcun River, reducing potential pollution of sewage to surrounding waters, and continuing to support the sustainable development and development of the area covered by the Zhangcun River.
